The sound of a busy park on a sunny Sunday afternoon!
I have to say guys that I was in two minds about going out today. After an exceptionally late night of report writing, I woke up so late that tentative plans to ‘pop over’ to the Isle of Wight were clearly not very realistic. With the nights drawing in, it’d be far better to leave it until another day. So today at 2.30pm, I was sitting here in my pjs in one of those ‘Mmm, I don’t know what I want to do but I want to do something‘ moods! Do you get those?! I hope it’s not just me but this is where my photography bucket list came in handy as I could find another category to add a photo to. But the key was to find somewhere that wouldn’t be too demanding walking-wise as I’m still on crutches but somewhere that would be mood-lifting and make me very glad that I’d been out.
I’ve eaten at the Harvester Restaurant in Haywards Heath, West Sussex several times. It’s only about 25 minutes from here and I’ve always been intrigued about the signs for the ‘miniature railway’ that runs at the weekends. I mean, as far as I was aware, it was just a restaurant on a fairly busy road and there might possibly be a beer garden around the back. Well……what a surprise today! On my quest to find that miniature railway, I discovered a park with stunning views over the Sussex Downs. It was pretty busy with young children in the large playground, older youngsters playing football, a large patio from the restaurant where parents could keep an eye on their children, tennis courts and….get this….a large miniature railway! The grounds are lovely and every few minutes you hear the whistle from the trains as they set off from the ‘station’ or come through the tunnel. The rail wraps around a bowling green and beyond, and, on such a beautiful day, there were plenty of little ones and not-so little ones keen to have a go! If only I’d know about this place when our children were younger as we can stayed there for hours! But, for today, I’m really pleased that I headed out and it also means that I’ve another photo to add to my ‘transport’ category.
I mentioned a while back that I was going to cook every day for a month which is way out of my comfort zone! I’m very much a can’t cook AND won’t cook person! Well, my plans to do this challenge in August were put on hold after my fall but I’m going to be cooking every day in October for the family. I’d totally understand if hubby has to work away from home several nights a week! My cooking’s not going to be great but you have to try these things, don’t you! There’s only one way that I’m going to improve and that’s just be gritting my teeth and doing it. I’ll be paying special attention to the last week few programmes of Celebrity Masterchef this week!!!! And you never know. Perhaps I’ll even get into it. We’ll see!
